That horrible moment when your phone caller ID reads ‘kids bus’ and you answer to hear the bus driver crying. She needed Masons date of birth and our address and informed me that they had been in an accident on the way to school. I knew in my gut Mason was okay so my first instinct was to calm her down and of course make sure the trusty blue jet was safe.

I decided to pick him up and have him medically checked out. Truth is, I knew he was okay but figured it would give the driver; who is a dear friend of ours, the peace of mind she was needing. Plus, it doubled as an Aflac claim so why the heck not!

All humor aside there was a moment when my heart was in my throat and I was terrified. This could have been much worse. Thankful that Mason and our sweet Layla plus the children on the other bus were safe and both of our friends; the driver and aide, had only minor injuries. Just a reminder to always watch for school buses as they carry our most precious cargo.
